Groucho Marx Autographed 8x10" Glossy Photo w/ Inscription and COA Signed in '74. Shipped with USPS First Class.Glossy 8x10" of the three Marx Brothers (Harpo, Groucho, and Chico), signed by Groucho Marx and personally inscribed by Groucho's secretary Steve Stoliar (responsible for getting ANIMAL CRACKERS re-released in the early 1970s). Stoliar explains in his memoir EYEBROWS RAISED, "After Groucho would go through the stack of photos, signing only his name on each, I would take them back to my office, and, as requests would come in, I'd take a black Sharpie and personalize each photo, above his signature, emulating Groucho's handwriting as best I could. It would have been nice to have been able to honor each request with an inscription entirely in Groucho's hand, as with the special items which people sent in, but there was simply too large a volume of fan mail, and so most of the photos sent out were hybrids. But they could all be said to have been 'signed' by the man himself."The photo features the Marx Brothers as seen in A NIGHT IN CASABLANCA, and was issued in bulk to publicize Groucho's "An Evening With Groucho" personal appearance tour.The inscription is a response to a fan letter I wrote to Groucho when I was in 6th grade.
