DESCRIPTIONGRISWOLD VINTAGE 1930's LARGE #8 CAST IRON SKILLET WITH THEIR HIGHLY DESIREABLE LARGE BLOCK LOGO IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND AS NICE AS i HAVE SEEN --- SMOOTH AND SITS PERFECTLY FLAT, "SPOTLESS" CLEAN, SEASONED, READY FOR USE AND MAKES A STRIKING DISPLAY.MATERIAL: Cast Iron. SIZE: Large Number 8 --- Rim 10-1/2" Across (11-1/4" Across the 2 Pour Spouts) x 2" Deep. Pattern Number (PN): PN 704 A. (Of Note, the Letter "A" Suffix Following the "704" Makes this the 1st Lettered Skillet Manufactured by GRISWOLD in this Large Logo Style). STYLE: Smooth Underside Featuring the Large Block GRISWOLD Logo. Many Consider this Early Large Block Logo To Be the Most Desirable GRISWOLD Logo. The Skillet Also Has the Early GRISWOLD Handle with a "Pointed Teardrop" Cutout for Hanging if Desired. MARKED: Top of Skillet Handle Incised with the Size Number "8" . Underside is Incised "CAST IRON SKILLET, 8, GRISWOLD (Name Inside Their LARGE BLOCK DOUBLE CIRCLE AND CROSS LOGO ) , ERIE PA., U. S. A., 704 A" . PERIOD: 1930's. CONDITION: Excellent --- No Breaks, Chips, Cracks, Pitting, Rust or Utensil Marks. The Skillet Sits Perfectly Flat with No Wobble or Spin on the Stovetop, in the Oven and on any Flat Surface. The Cooking Surface Itself is Perfectly Flat As Well and Smooth Showing Light Wear. The Highest Grade Iron Ore from the Period was Used
