GREAT COUNTRY CHIPPENDALE 18TH C CONNECTICUT SIDE CHAIR SHAPED CREST AND SPLAT Description: A PERIOD 18th Century CONNECTICUT COUNTRY CHIPPENDALE SIDE CHAIR with a fully developed and scrolled carved crest with a highly developed and carved center splat with TURNED and squared legs and stretchers, Circa 1770, all in the BEST ORIGINAL MAHOGANY STAINED SURFACE. Rural Connecticut example with a fully developed crest and center splat. Turned and square legs with square molded stretchers. All in maple. THE CONDITION OF THIS CHAIR IS IN GREAT CONDITION. ALL THE FEET AND EVERY ORIGINAL WOODEN PIN IS INTACT. THE SURFACE IS THE BEST ORIGINAL FINISH WITH THE GREATEST PATINA. Old rush seat still in good condition. This great chair stands a full 41" tall. The seat height is 18" and is 20" across.
