Here is an interesting wicker suitcase made in China in the 1930's. My mother in laws family lived in Shanghai before the second world war and this suitcase belonged to her mother. The suitcase measures 26 inches across x 15.5 inches deep x 9 inches tall. It does have a working key. The corners are reinforced with metal ( possibly tin) painted green. The inside has a thin muslin like lining. The catches are marked Singh & co Shanghai below a small elephant symbol. The suitcase is in excellent condition for its age. There is some wear to the corners but the wicker is in good shape. The inside leather holding straps have come adrift but they are repairable.I am in the process of clearing my mother-in-laws attic so have two trunks and an interesting vintage suitcase on offer so please have a look at the other items.
