In Malaysian legends a similar story includes a man who dreams of a beautiful woman while sleeping under a bamboo plant; he wakes up and breaks the bamboo stem, discovering the woman inside. The Japanese folktale" Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" tells of a princess from the Moon emerging from a shining bamboo section. Hawaiian bamboo('ohe) is a kinolau or body form of the Polynesian creator god Kane Milohai. This Gorgeous Bamboo Brooch is Hand-Carved from Genuine Elephant Tusk Ivory. This amazing Brooch features a Stunning, Light, buttery Patina with a nice Polish! Distinct Criss-Cross Graining is clearly visible. This Vintage Brooch is a Large and Impressive piece of Jewelry measuring 2.75" Long and 2" wide. Clean and well taken care of over the years. A couple of hairline cracks that comes with aged Ivory.
