Hummels originated from the artwork of a Bavarian nun, which was discovered by porcelain shop owner Goebel who created the now famous figurines. Each one goes through a long process involving multiple artisan sculptors, mold makers, and painters."Merry Wanderer" was issued between 1935 - 1950 when it was retired. It's a little boy with a travel bag and an umbrella and stands 4". "Surprise" also known as "The Duet" is a boy and a girl standing close together with her holding a basket and they stand 4".
