This chess set is made my Paolo Chiari in Italy of cold cast marble resin and then hand painted. The tallest piece stands 2 5/8" tall. The two colors are represented by Gnomes and Orcs. While listed as used, the set is in near new condition. My wife and I purchased this chess set in San Gimignano during our honeymoon to Italy in 2006 as a decorative piece. It has set on a table in our living room for six years. We are moving into smaller housing and need to downsize, and this is one of the items we are looking to find a new home for. We never used it for its practical purpose, but it would be great for playing.
