Glenmorangie Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky Barrel Oak Chips/Shavings Barbecue or Smoker 250gr bag Genuine oak chips from the old cooperage that the Glenmorangie whisky company once owned at Broxburn, West Lothian, Scotland. The chips were made by chipping up old whisky barrels. These barrels were made of selected White Mountain Oak from the Ozark Mountains in USA and then used to store bourbon or other spirit before being used for storing Glenmorangie's famous single highland mallt scotch whisky for at least 10 years. Oak chips are regarded as the finest material that can be used for smoking food in a range of hot or cold smokers. However, this becomes even finer when whisky impregnated oak wood chips are used. This bag has a mix of chips and shavings which is perfect for smoking. Smoking food can also be done on the barbecue if the chips/shavings are dampened first and then put onto the hot coals, whereby they will give off large amounts of aromatic smoke, to cook and flavour your food. Only a small amount of these need to be used in smokers and barbecues to smoke a lot of food. A previous buyer quote can be seen in my feedback "great for smoking pheasant".
