GLASGOW GIRL-ANN MACBETH-VASE & CUP .A splendid vase and a two-handled cup of similar design, both by Ann Macbeth.The vase is 18 cms. high with a diameter of 11 cms. Both are in excellent condition; no cracks or chips. Ann Macbeth enrolled at the Glasgow School of Art in 1897 and was a contemporary of Charles Rene Macintosh, Margaret and Frances Macdonald, Frances McNair, Jessie M King and Jessie Newbery. She was multitalented and excelled at embroidery. In 1920 she moved to Patterdale in the Lake District.The designs on this pottery are typical of Ann Macbeth's work. Examples of this quality are seldom offered for sale.
