This is a lovely antique hand-painted Ginori Italian porcelain Bowl. The bowl measure approximately 9 1/2" diameter, 2 1/4" tall. The beautiful orange poppies are signed with initial A and a last name that I cannot read definitively. That is the best I can read the signature. Please see the photos. The back is marked with a orange/red crown and âGinori Italy" as well as a diamond with "Hand Paintedâ inside. There is a green and black stamp mark "DECORAZIONE RICHARD-GINORI ESEGUITA DA" and a orange/red number "0-45". The Guide to Pottery & Porcelain marks for Italy show this mark as 18th century or early 19th century.Carlo Ginori started a porcelain factory in 1735 near his villa, at Doccia near Florence. He explored Tuscany to find kaolin, a white clay, the crucial ingredient of porcelain; hired technicians from the du Paquier porcelain factory in Vienna; and persuaded local sculptors to design models for him. Now known as Richard-Ginori they produced some of the finest tableware for nearly 300 years.The bowl is in great condition. I found no chips or repairs.
