In this Key Origin Issue, released in 1975, New X-men Origin & 1st appearance. 1st appearance Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus and Thunderbird. 2nd appearance of Wolverine, who is first introduced to the X-men in this issue. A new team featuring Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, and Thunderbird busts through the cover of this 1975 issue, sounding a wake-up alarm for a title that had been snoozing in reprints for a few years. Under the control writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum and later Chris Claremont and John Byrne, the New X-Men became the title that launched a 1000 collections throughout the late 70s and early 1980s.
