Gerbing & Stephan Majolica Bird Vase.Hight 19cms.Circa 1885-1898.Raised design of an Owl on one side and an Eagle on the other side.Perched on flowering branches with small flying bird nearby.With flattened pierced handles.See 3rd image for impressed and black painted marks. This pottery was founded in 1829 by Gerbing & Schiller & split into 2 factories-W.Schiller & Son and Gerbing & Stephan in 1885. Condition.No chips,cracks or restoration but there are 2 tiny glaze chips inside the rim and 4 very tiny ones on the outer rim.4 tiny glaze scuffs on the raised cream banded decoration. These small imperfections do not detract from the overall appearance of this vase.
