Encapsulated by PSA, with Autograph Certified and graded NM 7 by PSA/DNA (85070972). Hall of Famer. Two-time American League batting champion George Sisler has placed his flowing signature in pen on the offered index card. "Gorgeous George" was one of the greatest contact hitters of all time; the St. Louis Browns stalwart recorded a .300 or better batting average in 13 of his 15 MLB seasons. In 1920, he rapped out 257 hits, a mark that stood as the Major League record for 84 years until it was broken by Ichiro Suzuki in 2004. A prolific base thief, Sisler led the American League in steals four times, highlighted by an MLB-best 51 stolen bases in 1922, his lone AL MVP-winning campaign. Sisler—a Hall of Fame inductee in 1939—passed away in 1973 at the age of 80. The offered index card exhibits light, even toning throughout and stands as a premier showcase for Sisler's autograph.
