Sons of veteran's, Grand Army of the Republic Model 1860 Staff & Field Officer's Sword. measures 36" overall with scabbard. Has a 29.75" double edged clean blade that is etched at ricasso "G.W. Simmons & co., Boston, Mass.". The hilt with brass langet bearing S. of V. seal, knuckle guard with crossed cannons & pommel with wing spead eagle shield. Grips are wire wrapped leather. Sword shows usual wear & age., some tarnishing to metal surfaces, wear to grips & patina to brass. blade is tight to hilt.
