This is a wonderful old white ironstone sugar bowl, in the popular Wheat and Hops pattern. It is missing its lid. The base has the mark for J&G Meakin that was used from about 1851 to 1889. The sugar bowl measures approximately 5 1/4" tall, 6 1/8" wide from handle to handle, and 5" in depth. The inner rim, where the lid would fit, measures approximately 3". This has a chip on the inner rim; there is a closeup in the last photo. There are several small nicks along the foot. There are some surface marks, stains and blemishes.
