Fulper No. 5 Elephant Vase First Fifteen Form RestoredThis Fulper No. 5 Elephant vase is a less common and not often seen form produced somewhere between 1910 and 1914. It came directly from an important New York collection and has been off the market for more than 25 years. This vase is executed in a Chinese Blue glaze and the elephant handles have a good level of detail compared to many other examples. Part of the Fulper "First Fifteen", this vase is not a form commonly found. As seen in the photos it is marked with squat rectangular mark.The vase has been professionally restored, including the base chips along the bottom edge, some color has been added in sections, and it has been over sprayed. The original damage that was repaired is unknown and cannot be fully determined without destroying the current professional repair. It is suspected the repair is to the rim and base chips based on visual observation. The pot is structurally sound. The line visible in the 9th photo is a reflection and not a scratch. This piece is being sold as, is with the restoration.This is an excellent opportunity to own a desirable "First Fifteen" form that displays well, for a fraction of the cost of a mint example.Please review the photos and ask any questions.
