This auction is for a loose, out-of-the-box 1:100 scale die cast U.S. Marines F-18 Hornet (#5021), released by Franklin Mint / Armour. The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine supersonic, all-weather carrier-capable multirole combat jet, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (hence the F/A designation). Nicknamed the "Red Devils", the squadron is based at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California and fall under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 11 (MAG-11) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW). The Red Devils are the oldest and most decorated fighter squadron in the Marine Corps. This is an adult collectible and not a toy to be played with. It measures about 6 inches long and 5 inches wide at the wingspan. All ordnance is present and so is the display stand. This is in very good, like-new condition.
