CARNIVAL GLASS CLUBSOUVENIRSWOODSLAND PINEModern Fenton Favrene Blue Carnival Glass souvenir Bowl from the Woodsland World Wide Carnival Glass Association's (wwwcga) 2003 St. Louis convention, in excellent undamaged contemporary condition.The pattern ​'Woodsland Pine' was designed by Glen Thistlewood, assisted by Fenton designer Jon Saffell, after Fenton's 'Pinecone' design proved unworkable. The exterior, originally Imperial's 'Open Rose' pattern, was replaced by a new design by Glen Thistlewood called 'Flowers of the World', which features Kansas Sunflowers (Kansas was the home of wwwcga) , separated by paneled Rosemary sprigs; Rosemary for remembrance of past members and friends. Fenton's Favrene is their unique version of two earlier glasses - Tiffany's Favrile and Steuben's Blue Aurene. Enticed by the silvery blue color found in these pieces, Frank M. Fenton worked to develop a similar color. A special reheating process was necessary to bring the pure Silver in the batch to the surface, creating a silvery layer on the outside of each piece, which was then iridized.
