In 1990, Fenton introduced their Limited Edition Four Part Christmas At Home Collection. The first design in the series (1990) is "Sleigh Ride" and features a beautiful frit (crushed glass paint technique which gives dimension) covered snow scene and a horse drawn sleigh hand painted on satin cameo glass. This is the 8" plate with decorative edge. It's signed by the artist (D Fredrick) and is number 659 of an edition limited to only 3500 pieces. Please take a look at the frit painting, it looks like ice crystals! Excellent condition!! I have three other pieces in the series in other auctions. (All white number tags are my mom's inventory stickers, they are easily removed). Please note that the actual colors are a little paler than shown.My mom, now into her 90's, has been an avid Fenton collector for years. Her collection is well over 1,000 pieces. Her main areas of interest were Burmese, Hand Painted Custard Glass, Eggs, Bells, Series (Christmas, Mothers Day etc), Fairy Lamps, clocks, and miniature plate & bell sets. There are also some other assorted pieces. Her eyesight has been failing for the last few years and she can no longer enjoy her collection. I am beginning to sell it, according to her wishes.Since Christmas is quickly approaching, this will be my last day listing Holiday Themed Fenton and this auction is 5 days only. read more
