Here's a beautriful, hand painted and decorated proud hen on a nest with a little extra, the egg plate surrounding it. It's a limited edition (950), offered in the late 90's according to the Fenton book, but it's not numbered. It is signed by the artist, Marilyn Wagner, with her signature butterfly. The hen is decorated with lovely hand painted pink roses, her beak is highlited with gold. The color is iridized opalescence which reflects pastel colors. The piece is 13" long x 11" wide and the highest point is 6" at her tail. The nest is 1 and 1/8" deep. There is room for 12 eggs around the plate and there are delicate golden feathers between each egg space. The bottom of the hen appears to be "sugared", you know like the eggs used to be. It's really pretty!
