FABULOUS Scarce White Ironstone Apple Bowl N/R FABULOUSQUITE SCARCELARGE WHITE IRONSTONEAPPLE BOWL I receive so many requests for this style bowl and I so seldom see one. It's been several years since I found one, and I was thirlled this treasure at an antique show in the heart of Iowa this fall. This bowl was manufactured almost a hundred years ago, in 1910, by Knowles Taylor & Knowles, and I've pictured the potter's mark from the bottom of the bowl. This style bowl is commonly referred to as an apple bowl, and it certainly is large enough to fill with apples, but it's also great as an extra large serving bowl, a centerpiece bowl and of course it looks great on display when not in use. The bowl is tall and deep with a short, footed base. The top rim flares out slightly from the body of the bowl. This bowl is very large with a top diameter of approx. 9 1/4" and it's approx. 4 3/4" tall. It's a thick, heavy bowl with a packed weight of five pounds. The condition is very good. T are no chips, cracks, crazing. T's a bit of utensil usage evident on the inside bottom and a small area on the footed base w the white glaze was unevenly applied. This is original to the potting of the bowl. It really is a fabulous piece of white ironstone and t's NO RESERVE. Buyer will please pay the actual cost of mailing and insurance--no handling charge
