Please note: this is offering is being reposted with a reduced reserve. This ensemble consists of a pie server and six forks, all in F.A. Durgin's (St. Louis) Medallion pattern. The server is a quality item, but not a rarity in itself. The forks, however, are exceptionally scarce, and to find them companioned this way is doubly so. By themselves, the forks could easily be misidentified as individual fish pieces, but this union is self-identifying.The server is 10" long overall, with a blade that is 5" by 3" at the widest. It is quite heavy. The blade has coffered shoulders, that also have cut work borders, and wriggle work. The blade surface is intricately engraved. The forks are a generous 7 1/8" long, and also quite heavy. They too have cut work shoulders, and engraved surfaces. All pieces have the same "CU" script monogram, and are stamped on the reverses "Sterling," "F.A. Durgin," "St. Louis."The condition is immaculate. The pie blade is flat and free of burrs, bends, or polishing wear on the engraving. The same is true of the forks, which have even, pointed tines, with no softening from polishing.Bidding is for the set at a single price. Shipping is $ 15 USPS Priority insured.
