Gorgeous very rare Hertel and Schwab 16 inch bisque sockethead and composition body German boy doll with light blue sleep eyes and wonderfully rosy cheeks! Hertel and Schwab was a German company manufacturing dolls between 1910 and 1930+. This is a mold #152.8 1/2 open mouthed, bent-legged baby doll in played-with condition. I am unable to tell whether the hair is human or mohair, but it is in fragile condition and original to the doll. The doll is redressed in antique and vintage clothing. The head has no cracks or hairline fractures. The composition body is in good condition overall, but there are odd, light scratch marks to the chest, darkening of the hands with worn areas as shown. Pate and wig will be removed to stuff head for shipping and will need to be reglued on arrival. (Rocker eyes can damaged bisque in transit) Please ask questions before bidding!
