Exquisite Solid Oak Victorian Secretary Desk w Bookcase Top & 2 Keys Circa 1900Being offered for sale is this exquisite, and very unusual solid oak Victorian Secretary desk with its original wavy glass behind the fancy fretwork on the doors, two adjustable shelves on the inside that each measure 38 1/2 inches wide by 12 inches deep, two tasseled working keys that work all the locks. This solid oak secretary desk is in amazing antique condition and the details on this piece are lovely! Carved rosettes adorn the area above the doors which accent the carved fretwork in front of the old glass; and beautiful bobbin molding is at the base of the doors. A fabulous fall front desk area with a fine writing surface and storage cubbies are on the right with a bonnet / hat cabinet on the left and a splendid applied carving accent at the very center. Finally additional storage is found below with the two long drawers each with brass Victorian pulls, working locks and dove-tailed joinery on the ends, with this piece resting on four carved shaped feet. This secretary is solid and tight, very clean and has a spectacular presence.
