Up for sale is an antique Brewster and Ingrahams Movement plus the assorted parts that can be seen in photos 7 and 8. In order to take the photographs the movement was turned upside down, so the photographs may look odd, but you can see the movement and marking.Description: The clock movement is stamped "Brewster and Ingrahams, Bristol, CT, U.S. It was made between 1844 and 1852. The plate height is 6 3/4 inches, plate width 3 7/8 inches, plate depth is 1 5/16 inches. The width from gear to gear is 6 1/2 inches. The hand shaft is 1 1/16 inches long. Distance from winding arbor to winding arbor is 3 5/16 inches. Distance from hand shaft to winding arbors is 3 inches.I cannot certify that the pendulum and winding key are original. The hour hand fits the hand shaft, but the small hand clearly does not go with the movement. I am including all parts that came with the movement when I acquired it in 1986.This movement appears to be an important artifact of horology history and the making of the Ingraham Clock Company. There is an etched name that could be a horologist repair mark or former owner. The etching reads "j. m. Conrad 1946."Condition: This clock movement is being sold as is condition.
