English Ivy, Minton Porcelain Cup & Saucer A wonderful cup and saucer set manufactured by Minton about 1880. The design is raised, majolica style, and includes twining vines, leaves and tiny berries -- even the brown ivy roots have been painted (see the cup handle). T are no chips or cracks, just wear to the some of the green on the saucer, visible in the photograph and on one side of the cup, t is a touch of blue under the glaze. The cup measures 2 3/4 inches high and 2 5/8 inches across the top; the saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is stamped on the base with the English Registry mark for April 1868, as well as a hand painted pattern number A7657. The saucer is impressed with the word Mintons, an indecipherable English Registry mark and the Minton date code for 1880. Check, money order or Paypal within 8 days of auction closing or item will be relisted. Items are shipped as cheaply and quickly as humanly possible!
