Up for bid is this pretty Parian doll head. It was made by Alt Beck & Gottschalk back in 1875. Her name is Empress Augusta. The head is in good condition. There is a little loss of paint on the right cheek. There are no chips or cracks. Her eyes are a beautiful blue. I believe they are paperweight eyes. Her head is stuffed with some sort of cotton like material which I have not removed. I'm assuming it is there to keep the eyes in place. The head measures approx. 7 1/8" in height and approx. 5" from shoulder to shoulder. I do not see a makers mark. She's a pretty thing. Thanks so much for looking.
