Excellent example of Egyptian Revival at its most unusual. These are large, carved scarabs with hierglyphics on the reverse of each scarab with a gold-plated, I believe, double link chain to hold them all securely. Also, the clasp works well but also has a secondary security clasp and chain. On a lot of these older bracelets, the secondary security chain is broken or lost. But it is intact on this one. Great piece and fun to wear. The bracelet measures seven and about a third inches long including the clasp and rings to attach. There are two rings for attaching the clasp, so you can adjust it a bit.The scarabs are just under an inch in length. BTW, the carvings do not show up well on the photographs because the stone being white, they interrupt the flash somehow. At any rate, the chain can be seen distinctly. The scarab is the ancient Egyptian symbol of life and rebirth. The white scarab has another meaning but I've been unable to research it exactly. So far, it resonates to rebirth in terms of reincarnation but there's more. I just have been unable to find a clear text on this. Yours to research further. Enjoy.
