This is a brand new book of building and structure plans by author Pat Harriman MMR and is perfect for anyone modeling in O On30 HO N HOn3 or Nn3 scales. This is his first book Early Wood Frame Structures. If you have his second book Early Wood Frame and Masonry Structures and enjoyed building some of the structures featured in it you will want this book. The book contains plans for 45 structures in 163 pages. That includes 4 pages of color photographs of finished models built from this book. One of those pages and one of the plains are provided in the photos for this item. The structures found in this new book are all different from the structures his second book. The book is spiral bound in an 8 "” x 11” format for your convenience in making copies of the plans to use build your models without damaging the book. If you’re not familiar with Mr. Harriman’s plans and haven’t purchased his first book, some of his earlier drawings can be found in past issues of the NMRA’s Scale Rails magazine as well as RMC and MR. While these structures are not based on specific prototypes, they are all prototypically and proportionally correct. Mr. Harriman is an architect and has used those skills and his model railroading experience in preparing the drawings and plans in this book. The cover of the book is a photo of the author’s Shelter Bay HO HOn3 Railroad. Keeping the modeler in mind, as the author states, “The majority of the larger structures are designed as long as necessary and as shallow as possible.” Most of the plans include both a plan drawing and a three quarters view drawing. All plans are marked in prototype feet and inches dimensions so that they can easily be built in any scale from the plans. If you model in HO as the author does he has also included call outs of the commercial parts he used in many of the structures. While the author has designed the buildings based on his vision the same building can easily be used for another function.
