Early possibly 1800th century salute cannon barrel cast in either brass or bronze, it measures about 15 1/2 in. long and is quite heavy, although I've had a number of so called experts look at it none of them see to agree on the date of it, we've gone from 1850 to as far back as 1750, again as far as the country of origin we have seemed to arrive at Spanish or South American, again some seem to think it was used on a ship another one said it was used to call workers from the fields at quitting time, as such you are bidding on what you see I've taken quite a few photos of it possibly that will help identify it, if you collect early weapons or cannons it is an interesting piece and all I can really guarantee is it is old.
