The restrained elegance of this pickle castor shows the influence of the Aesthetic movement. The silverplated frame was made by Rogers, Smith & Co., of New Haven, and stands about 12.5" high. The glass jar may be part of the Convex Rib pattern manufactured by Dalzell, Gilmore, & Leighton, in 1889. The glass is of good quality, and the thick ribs have a pleasing optical effect. Please visit my other auctions for more EAPG and other good things: multiple purchases will be combined and shipped at cost.
