Arte Jimenez“Cobre Goteado” Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico Arte Jimenez is a “artisan” business in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico, which took its first steps in 1995. It began when the owner Alejandro Jimenez began creating “cobre goteado” dripped copper art. He started as many do, by working out of his garage at home with two assistant artisans. As time went on he and his workers began producing finer and more detailed artistic pieces. By producing great quality metal art, the small business has now grown to the point that 23 artisans (specialists in dripped copper) are now working with Alejandro. This metal art, which is 100% handmade in Mexico , goes through 12 different steps to obtain its intense variety of color. These colors are naturally produced by intensely heating the different metals (brass, copper, bronze, and black steel) to very high temperatures. This art is in such demand that Alejandro and his artisans are now shipping their work to England, Germany , Saudi Arabia , Italy, Canada, France, Spain , and The United States.
