Don Heck Avengers #37 Partial Splash Page 1 Captain America Original Art (Marvel, 1967)

Pricing & History
Don Heck Avengers #37 Partial Splash Page 1 Captain America Original Art (Marvel, 1967). The partial piece of the splash page is a trimmed element that includes the entire figure of Captain America and portions surrounding him. The patch measures 9.75" tall by 6" wide (at its widest). It is unknown if this was a replacement art patch on the original art page, or if it was trimmed out later for other usage. It is possible that this image was the inspiration for the redrawn pose of Captain America in the artwork for the 1967 "Merry Marvel Marching Society" record. This image from Avengers #37 was created in ink over graphite with some white paint art correction. There is a stain on Cap's chest, and the item is irregularly trimmed. After the fact, it has been affixed directly to another piece of Bristol board (stripped-in with tape on the reverse side) that has been produced to recreate the surrounding splash page area. This was done by printing the original art in low-res grey ink and inking with markers. All artwork and text on the page (other than that on the Captain America patch piece) is an art reproduction by persons unknown.
