Sterling silver hand wrought wine taster with a round tab handle in the style of a French 18th c. piece. The taster weighs 3.48 troy oz. and measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter not including the handle, and 1 inch high at the handle, and 4 3/4 inches across to end of handle. Marked on the base "deM" for William de Matteo, and "I.G" above "Sterling Handwrought". There are very fine shallow surface scratches overall, particularly in the bowl (see photos), otherwise In good vintage condition, a solid small item and a bit of an unusual project for this historic silversmith. We are also now listing for sale on eBay another wine taster, French .950 silver by Christofle which you might want to consider.
