I have read some of these stories in the past and they are pretty standard cookie-cutter fare for comic book stories from the 1950's and 1960's. The Martian Manhunter, aka J'onn J'onzz, is perhaps one of DC Comics most misunderstood and misused characters, along with Captains Comet and Carrot, but his stories were simplistic and wholesome, and for a kid, those are great ways to get them to read, especially short stories that are engaging, with a beginning, a middle and end. My godson will turn 8 years old just weeks before Christmas, so these stories will help in bridging the gap to the next level of comic book reading since they're easy to read and understand, and they are not over his head, or talking down to him.I am not a professional book grader but I believe this book to bein the condition indicated above.
