I'm selling some items from my aunt's estate, so I don't know everything about them. If I've omitted something that is important to you, please ask and I will do my best. I want your bid.This auction is for a solid brass, hand cast and polished reproduction of a European 17 th century candlestick in the Colonial Williamsburg collection. It was made by Virginia Metalcrafters of Waynesboro, Virginia. It is approximately 10" high to the top of the spike. The oval "4CW" Colonial Williamsburg reproduction mark and the "VM" Virginia Metalcrafters mark are cast inside the bottom.There are some light scratches to the lacquer on the top where the candle sits, probably from removing wax. I tried to show these in one of the pictures. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. Please take a look at the pictures.Virginia Metal crafters made reproductions for many fine museums because of their authentic method of sand casting and hand finishing each piece. Sadly, they went out of business several years ago and I don't think this piece is available anymore.Sorry about the shipping but this are heavy; almost 3 pounds unpacked.
