10.5" tall. wood-fired tobacco-spit ash glaze. signed/dated on bottom. mint condition. inscribed in back of jug... "If I have to understand.. don't bother to explain". I was working on this jug when a pottery dealer walked up. he told me the history of meaders pottery. It was a version I hadn't heard before. thats why the inscribed quote got put on the jug. the jug getting glazed by that ugly man in the photo is this jug... which has more sense than the person glazing it and more money than the pottery expert had when he left
