Clear Quart Mason Canning Fruit jar. This is Redbook # 1667. It is strongly embossed on the face Mason Fruit Jar. The recessed base is well embossed 4 raised dots in the valve circle. This is a shoulder seal jar. It is topped by a hole free zinc button lid that is not embossed on the exterior with a perfect white porcelain lined interior that is embossed with concentric circles. The thick smooth lip is in great condition with a few tiny flea bite nips (probably from manufacturing molding) and one bruised area that looks like a surface bubble busted. Otherwise the entire jar is chip, crack and ding free. There are some minor scratches expected for a jar that was used for canning. The jar is heavily made and has a lot going for it. The jar has hundreds of seed bubbles as well as some larger ones, an old runny window glass look, and slightly indented side seams that add to the character of this jar.
