For Your Consideration: This auction listing is for an advertising miniature little brown jug. The unusually small jug is 3 inches tall, and has incised printed (manuscript) writing, advertising the Whiskey House in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The writing says: Compliments of Thos. H. Burke Mail Order Whiskey House Clarksburg, W Va . There are no other markings on the jug as to the potter's name. The jug has the old W. Va. abbreviation, and I could not find out anything about the Whiskey House. The jug does not have chips or cracks. The brown shiny glaze is missing in places: on the lip of the jug, 2 places on the handle, and on the bottom edge where the glaze did not get completely painted.
