with cherry, walnut, and oak secondary woods. Found in Kentucky, but probably midwestern. Dovetailed case has cornice molding and panelled facade. The top of the case is of raised panel construction, and is then dovetailed into the case sides. Single raised-panel door has lipped and thumb-molded edge, and retains its original working lock and key, as well as its original lift-off hinges. Interior contains three rows of original hand-carved hooks. Below are three drawers, two with original square pulls. All drawers have big, chunky dovetails, and molded sides. The larger central drawer has no pull, and can only be accessed when the door is open. The smaller flanking drawers are pieced together from multiple pieces (presumably scraps) of cherry, walnut, oak, and they have crotch walnut bottoms; 79.5" high x 60" wide (at cornice) x 24.5" deep (at cornice).Condition: The kas retains an old, possibly original, dark finish. The bun feet are replacements; evidence of the original feet remains, and two drawer supports were removed to accomodate the tenons of the new feet. One strip of cornice molding has been nicely replaced (left side). Retains original hardware; VG.
