This is a kit to recane a chair seat that has a groove or channel around the outside area to be replaced (not drilled holes - see photos). First photo is what your chair should look like with the seat intact - it should have a smooth bead of spline around the edge of the caning. If the original seat is gone, the second photo is what the chair should look like - a groove - again - not drilled holes - that the cane must fit into. Everything you need to complete a seat is included with the exception of a few everyday household items (glue, screwdriver, etc). This kit will recane an average sized seat - can be as large as 17" square (measuring from outside edge of all grooves). Kit includes 1- 18" x 18" piece of fresh cane webbing (pattern size is 1/2" open - most commonly used pattern) 3 wooden wedges, spline and complete instructions. Shipping discount is included for multiple kits.
