This is a Catalina Pottery Giant Clamshell made by Gladding, McBean & Co. I have it pictured with the Small Clamshell from this same Nautical Art Ware line that I am selling separately. The outside is just as interesting as the inside with all the detail and texture. The Clamshell is Ivory on the outside and Coral on the inside. This item was made between 1939 and 1942 when the line was discontinued. It's mold is #C-236. This Clamshell is in excellent condition. It m easure 15 1/2" x 9 1/2" wide and 6 1/2" tall. The piece is marked with the blue ink stamp MADE IN USA on the bottom. This is an elegantly beautiful piece of pottery. The Shell is free from cracks, chips or crazing . This Clamshell would be a great addition to your GMB or Catalina Pottery Collection. I try to describe the item as accurately as possible. Please email with any questions.
