I am pleased to offer this BEAUTIFUL Antique Cantagalli Majolica Creamer & Sugar Bowl Set, Hooves Design Handle, Hand-painted Multi-colored Foliage and Florals, Signed with Cockerel Mark, Italy! ~ In EXCELLENT condition for age. Some light wear with age. Natural imperfections in glaze. No cracks, chips, crazing, fleabites, or repairs observed. Though excellent, please view pictures as this item comes AS IS . ~ STUNNING work of Italian art pottery by Cantagalli! The Cantagalli factory was founded by a master maiolica potter Ulisse Cantagalli (1839-1901) in Florence, Italy in 1877, and operated from 1878 to 1985. He was known for making reproductions of 16th Century maiolica and other historical ceramics. These reproductions became highly collectible. Cantagalli ceramics may be found in the Bargello museum in Florence, the Louvre in Paris, and many examples in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Beautifully formed & decorated Cantagalli Italian pottery creamer & sugar bowl set! A wonderful, whimsical piece of Italian art pottery for the collector. Truly lovely set in person. Creamer has bulbous squat form with ruffled rim and hooves design to end of handle (see pic). Sugar bowl in round form. 3 piece set comes as shown and includes: creamer, sugar bowl with matching lid.
