You are bidding on one (1) Used Buchan Stoneware Coffee Mug/Cup and Saucer from Portebello, Scotland, in the Thistle Pattern, sometimes called Thistleware. The mug is in Excellent Used Condition with nice painting; soft on the purple thistle. The outside of the mug has one very slight scratch on the stem of the thistle, but it is only noticeable on extreme close inspection âe" it can be felt with your fingernail more than seen. It is ¼ inches long or less. The bottom of the mug w it meets the table, has very little wear, if any. The saucer is also in Excellent Used Condition with slight wear on the bottom w it meets the table. T are two bumps under the paint and glaze which were from the manufacturing process. The saucer measures just shy of 6 inches in diameter. The mug measures 4.25 inches from the widest part to the tip of the handle; 2.75 inches in diameter at the top of the mug; and 3 inches tall. According to the website, Thistle Pottery is chip-resistant, dishwasher-safe and detergent-proof. It is completely oven-proof âe" but may not be used over an open flame. The pattern an be used in the freezer and microwave; however, like any stoneware of this kind âe" avoid any sudden temperature changes by always thawing before use in an oven and donâe(tm)t put it directly into cold water while itâe(tm)s still hot from the oven or microwave.
