Collectors Item Finally another new Art Car to BMW Collection. The David Hockney painted 850 CSI is now available for shipping. We have a limited intial quanity for sale. We are a BMW dealer and these are factory boxed with the display case and the Art Car Book provided with each car. This is number 15 in the series. We currently have all 15 available please see our EBAY store. As a dealer we accept most major credit cards and we DO ACCEPT PAYPAL . We ship only in the USA. David Hockney created his 850CSi Art Car in 1995. Hockney was born in England but has lived in Los Angeles since 1964. He spent months coming up with the design for his BMW after BMW gave him a scale model to work on. Hockney worked on it over a six month period, photographing each change he made. He also studied the other Art Cars that had come before. His final design was to show the car as if the viewer could see through its body; thus, the driver and steering wheel show up on the driver's-side door. One of Hockney's beloved dachshunds can be seen in the back seat. On the hood he has painted a stylized intake manifold.
