The Independence Ball was three days of great music that included appearances by three of the top four San Francisco bands: The Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother & the Holding Co. Not long after this concert, Grace Slick would leave the Great Society to join the Airplane. Print Variations The handbill was only printed once before the concert in green ink on thin white paper.
