4.5" dia. w/signed at base of bust "Nini/F1777/1777." Produced in France by Italian sculptor and medalist Jean-Baptiste Nini. Left facing bust portrait of the American Revolutionary wearing a fur hat w/text "B. Franklin American." Scattered small losses at extreme outer edge most notably a shallow chip less than .5" dia. at 11 o'clock, a tiny 1/8" indentation at 12 o'clock and a shallow scrape at 1 o'clock. Fine. Portrait has only minor wear and retains sharp details displaying beautifully. Mike Nichols Collection.
