A Bell for Adanoby John Hersey In an ornate, illustrated leatherbound edition Finely produced copy of author's heartwarming 1944 novel set in Sicily during the latter stages of World War II, which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1945. In rich full red covers with elaborate gilt ornamentation on front, back and spine; three raised bands on spine. All edges gilt. Interior published on rich papers and with peach silk moire endpapers and matching satin ribbon bookmark sewn in. Illustrated by John Thompson. With a small blemish to front cover and 2 tiny whitish spots 1 tiny rubbed spot on cover corners; else a bright, sharp, clean, unmarked copy.
