This listing is for a gorgeous very detailed pottery skull. A fairly clean one with uniform glaze. It blends the gap between medical curiosities and pottery. It would look great under a glass dome. This is a life size piece. Made slightly smaller than a full grown adult, it measures approx. 5-5/8" tall by 4-3/4" across by 6-1/4" deep. It is a hollow molded piece of pottery and it is very life like. It is covered in a stunning arts & crafts mottled matte green glaze. Photo lights make it look a little lighter and darker in color than what it is. Great displayed in a library, conservatory or in many other settings to invoke conversation. It is exemplary to a Rookwood glaze or similar American art pottery companies of that time period. No cracks, no chips, no breaks and no repairs.There are a couple of spots on the glaze as seen in the photos that may have been done in the firing of the glaze but the skull still looks great. It is a hollow molded piece of pottery with some impressed markings that look like the number "10". (This is the one you will receive.) BASE IS NOT INCLUDED. Stand not included.
