Very Rare This vase has an iridescent glaze varying from Purple, light Pink, and exceptional drawings in deep silver green, with 3 stylized butterflies and 2 horseshoes. This vase was designed and executed by professor Louis-Etienne Desmant, a French ceramicist born at Choisy Le Roi in 1844 and deceased in 1902. Desmant worked in Bayeux and Montieres. The bottom of the vase has Desmant's signature deeply incised. Desmants ceramic work and glazes are superb. The vase stands about 7 inches from base to the top. The vase is about 2inches in diameter across the top and 3 inches in diameter across the bottom. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no distractions.
